Guide for applications
Postdocs:
We offer state-of-the-art research resources and the welcoming, world class training and academic environment of UAB. Postdocs can be secure that they will receive dedicated mentoring to accomplish their career goals. We place a high value on previous experience with rat behavior, programing in Python and Matlab, imaging and photometry techniques, and in vivo electrophysiology, but these are not strictly required. Applicants should email a cover letter specifying their career and research goals, including how they see themselves fitting within the lab's research focus, as well as an updated CV and contact information for three references, to Dr. Costa.
Graduate Students:
Prospective graduate students can apply to the Behavioral Neuroscience Graduate Program, the Neuroengineering PhD Program, or the Graduate Biomedical Sciences Program. UAB also offers several Master programs, such as the Behavioral Neuroscience MS program. Students interested in applying for any of these programs, or in a lab rotation, are recommended to email Dr. Costa directly and in advance. Please provide an updated CV, reference contact information, and information regarding your research interests and goals.
Undergraduates:
Students at UAB and other undergraduate institutions are welcome to apply to the K. M. Costa lab to gain research experience and to perform senior theses. Positions might be limited, but we are always open to new inquiries. Interested undergrads should email Dr. Costa.
